Nita Whitaker (NW) is a singer and songwriter. She grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana, and came to California to expand her music career. She married voice-over star Don LaFontaine and they had three daughters.Nita is also a favorite singer of legendary producer David Foster.
In honor of celebrating Black History Month, we now turn our attention to the first African-American crowned Miss Louisiana in She is also a Shreveport native who can sing, act, and produce.
